Getting Out of the Car Was the Hardest Part!

We are jamming in many activities, before we have to leave this beautiful place.    Today, in the morning, we went on a stairway walk in San Francisco.   We did walk number 5 in my favorite book "Stairway Walks of San Francisco" by Adah Bakalinsky.    This was the Russian Hill North Walk, and it was a 5 star one!
We walked around Lombard St. and Hyde St., down and up beautiful neighborhoods.   I think there are some consulates in this neighborhood, as well as very wealthy people.    Beautiful, large homes on beautiful streets, ivy covered lawns, fantastic views of the entire city and water.   Many movies have been made in this area, one sees it all the time.   The stairways were pretty vigorous, but the street walking was very vigorous!    We had Gus with us, and he is a real trooper.    At 10 years old, he was still wagging his tail by the end, though walking a lot slower.   But then, so were we!

We enjoyed this one very much.   We saw cable cars going down and up Hyde St., saw houses tucked away in between other houses, and on the end of it, came up the famous Lombard St.   There was an easy stairway walk near this curvy road, however, so it was pretty easy.
We saw many people on the walk, as this is a very touristy area, and of course, everyone had to pet Gus!
The hardest part was getting out of the car----we parked it at a 90 degree angle sideways, and I could barely open up the door as it was going uphill, sideways!    Gus had no trouble, thankfully.
Tonight we will meet Kathleen and my new friend Sue at the Left Bank Cafe!   I will use my generous gift certificate from Jim and Laura to eat and drink well!  Pat
