Wyoming, Salt Lake and "lots of legs".

We began the day with a trip to Sierra Trading Post in Cheyenne. The first two hours the road was covered with fog and there were black ice warnings. This was the road that was shut down on our trip out here last year. Wyoming remains a difficult place to drive in the winter.
We made it through the fog and then almost instantaneously there was clearing and sunshine and it remained that way for the rest of the trip.
Once you've been on this road, and written about it there's not much to say. It is remarkable though, that the landscape seems to change at state lines.   (Pat--i believe Wyoming is the strangest state in the U.S.!  It certainly must have the worst weather)   We crossed to Utah, and almost immediately we could tell we were in a different place. Although, you can say that about Utah in general, it is a different place. We are increasingly familiar with Salt Lake City, so it does feel comfortable, and of course we are always happy to see Matt, Rachel, and the star of the show.Isaac.
I'm sure we'll blog more on the other site about grandkids, but do need to share Isaac's reaction when he first saw Gus. He knew who he was immediately, and was a little timid and scared, but after a minute he said "Gus has lots of legs".

  1. So how is that big, beautiful, black, many-legged heavenly hunk of dogdom adjusting to life on the road? Please give Gus a big hug from me! Talk to you when I return from Central America.
