The Day of the Crab in the year of the Tiger

We have neglected to mention this is the Chinese new Year, the year of the Tiger. Chinatown is all decked out, and there is a big parade next weekend in San Francisco. Happy New Year.
Crab, crab, crab, all day long!   But I'm talkin' about food, not mood.
Met our sister in law, LeeAnn (Dan's recently deceased brother, Jim's wife) Jim's daughter Aura and her husband John, and his son, Lee and girlfriend Deeana.   We met them at Joe's Crab Shack at Fisherman's Wharf.  I can't say I liked the restaurant, it was very noisy and touristy, but I did enjoy the company.   Very good to see them, for all of us, it was healing.    We were all a bit apprehensive, as it's only been a few months since Jim died, and it's new for all of us.   We had a really nice time.   Aura, who is a weight lifter, had to give me the Heimlich, as I swallowed a piece of shrimp shell.   It was pretty scary, but she saw it right away, and prevented a disaster.
Afterwards, we went to Jay and Lindsey's for a crab dinner!   Jay had gone deep sea fishing that morning, and had caught 6 crabs!   So, he invited us for dinner.  He made a delicious meal, copied from one of our favorite Asian restaurants, The Dragonfly.    It was roasted crab with garlic noodles.   Really excellent!
