We had a mix of activity, lack of activity, relaxation and some excitement this weekend. Daytime Saturday was beautiful weather, and we just hung around the condo doing our routine things. In the afternoon we took off over the beautiful Richmond bridge to the East Bay. We went to Jack London square in Oakland, because we saw there was an artisan's fair there, but by the time we got there it was closing up. We then drove to Berkeley, for some rye bread, at Sol's, but they were out so Pat settled for Challah. Then we picked up takeout food and went to Jason and Lindsey's to eat it, and so that we could watch Henry while they went to a movie.
Sunday, we woke up and drove back to Berkeley for brunch with Dave K, and his family. Jason and Lindsey and Henry joined us, we had a nice time. It was so great to see Steve and Judy! Judy and I took a walk together, she is so enjoyable. The 4 of us were very relaxed, and the poor kids---David and Mya, and Jay and Lindsey, were all so tired from their babies! I felt for them, although they are a lot younger.
Then we went to Golden Gate Field, for horse racing. We realy enjoyed it, the weather was perfect, sunny and warm and it was dollar day, so there was dollar hot dogs, beer and soda. It was fun, we won nothing on the first race we bet on, but on the next two we won both times, and ended up about $40 ahead. We bet two horses to win and show in each race and they ended up one and two so we won both times. We then left, came home, and relaxed for the rest of the evening.
